What is the beauty of a root and a piece of wood?

‎位于湖南益阳东部的天意木国，是一个以木⁡文化为主题的⁧根雕博物馆。在四万多平方的展馆内，以黄花梨、阴沉木等名贵木种味材料创作而成的根木作品多达一万多件，被评为国宝级的作品达11件。

Located in the eastern part of Yiyang, Hunan. Tianyi Wood Kingdom is a root carving museum with the theme of wood culture. In the 40,000-square-foot exhibition hall, there are more than 10,000 pieces of root carvings created from precious wood species such as huanghuali wood and Burrie⁦d Ebony, and 11 pieces have been rated as national treasures.

我是一名根艺爱好者，从事根雕艺术创作有二十多年的时间，主要倾向于把根雕和书法相结合，目前已经创作了300多幅作品。这幅作品是我创作的一幅以寿、梦为题材的根书作品，这个材料采自于金丝楠的老树根，我（想表达）的寓意是长寿不是梦，整个作品是一气呵成，天然形成。


I’m a root carving fan and have been engaged in root carving art creation for more than 20 years. I mainly tend to combine root carving with calligraphy. I have created more than 300 works so far. It is a root carving work I created with the theme of longevity and dreams. The material is the old tree roots of Phoebe chinensis. I mean to (express) that longevity is not a dream. The whole work is completed in one go, naturally formed.
